Frequency of acoustic neuroma

Eight to ten percent of all brain tumours and 80 to 90% of tumours at the skull base are acoustic neuromas. Figures from different countries show that around 8 to 10 people out of 1 million will be diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma. It can be assumed that many will remain undetected, because they remain small and don't cause any noticeable complaints.
